Netbook Faceplate

I took the Great Wave off Kanagawa by Japanese artist Hokusai:

and then added this sketch of the crew’s ship:

I went in and edited a lot, especially taking all the small boats out of the great wave and re-drawing portions of the wave in the style of the rest of the piece. I printed the finished image on adhesive-backed printer paper, cut everything out, covered it in transparent adhesive to protect it from smearing and water damage, and applied it to the back of my red hp mini netbook. Was a fun use of a few hours one evening.

My affinity for The Great Wave off Kanagawa is showing as this is the second project on this blog where I have used it prominently.
